Sometimes you come across a bag that is not only a practical companion, but also a statement. The Sling Bag Pure from Oberwerth falls into this category for me.

To be honest, I was skeptical at first. Is it big/spacious enough? Leather? Won't it be too heavy, too impractical - or just pretty but not functional? After several weeks of use, I can say that these doubts were unfounded.

If you know Oberwerth, you know what to expect. The same goes for the Sling Bag Pure: the materials are outstanding. The tumbled, full-grain leather comes from southern Germany, feels supple but is robust enough for everyday use. You can see and feel the craftsmanship. The stitching, the fittings - everything looks high-quality and well thought-out.

The Cobra clasp on the side is a real highlight - secure, elegant and a little technically playful. It takes some getting used to at first, but soon becomes intuitive. The bag stays securely closed, but can be opened with one hand. Ideal for quick camera access.

At first glance, the Sling Bag Pure looks compact. And it is compact. But there's more inside than you might think. I loaded it with a Leica M11, two lenses, batteries and small items - no problem. Even my M11 and my MP each with a lens and an additional lens is no problem - great!

This is also due to the removable pads, which can be flexibly adjusted. The inner lining in bright red is not only a visual statement, but also practical - small items can be found quickly. And the padded main compartment reliably protects your equipment.

What good is the most beautiful bag if it doesn't wear well? Fortunately, Oberwerth has thought this through. The wide cotton shoulder strap, paired with a cleverly curved shape, makes the bag comfortable to carry even when fully packed.

I used it several times for hours on end - whether on photo walks, in everyday life or when traveling. No pressure, no pulling. Simply comfortable. The bag hugs the body but retains its shape. And it looks good too.

What I particularly like about the Sling Bag Pure: It doesn't scream "photo bag". It functions as such - yes. But it looks like a simple, high-quality designer sling. That makes it particularly suitable for everyday use.

Whether on a plane, strolling through town or in a café: I never had the feeling that I was traveling with a classic photo bag. Rather, it feels like I'm carrying a well-made, stylish shoulder bag - with the little extra that my camera equipment is perfectly protected.
